Målene til ISCEAH er å ha et høyt nivå på aktivitet og et bredt medlemskap til å dele erfaringer og bidra til utvikling av bedre praksis og metoder for beskyttelse og bevaring av verdens jordarkitekturens arkitektoniske, arkeologiske og kulturelle landskapsarv.
Den internasjonale vitenskapelige komiteen har fem satsingsområder:
Tema 1: Aktivitet – Bevare og studere den arkitektonisk jordarkitektur-arven
Tema 2: Arkeologi – Bevare og studere jordarkitekturens arkeologiske miljø;
Tema 3: Teknologi – Samarbeider for å forstå de historiske / tradisjonelle teknikkene for jordbyggingsstrukturer gjennom forskning på materialet, herunder dens innvirkning på nye jordkonstruksjoner.
Tema 4: Landskap – Undersøkelse av jordarkitekturens
Tema 5: Seismikk – Undersøkelse av antikke / historiske ikke -seismiske teknikker og bruk av disse i tillegg til gjeldende forskning for å informere om ettermontering av eksisterende strukturer og riktig nybygging.
Since 1987 Hauke Haupts has done restoration work and scientific research projects on historical earthen constructions in Europe, especially in Germany and Norway. Outside Europe: participation in Project in Morocco, Development of earthquake-resistant constructions and systems in Peru.
- His verve is founded on the fact that earthen constructions are for him the most fascinating building materials of all concerning its unique statics and building physics.
- His major scientific interest: he prefers to study material and physical properties in historical earthen constructions.
- He is a member of ICOMOS since 2007, ISCAEH Norway.
